Charlie Walker
Incitec Pivot Fertilisers, Vice President – Agronomy & Innovation
A Rural Science graduate from UNE, Charlie spent the first 4 years of his career working as an agronomist in North West NSW, after which he joined Incitec Fertilisers as an area sales manager on the Darling Downs covering cotton and cropping markets from Toowoomba to Dirranbandi. In 1999 Charlie took on the role of broadacre market development agronomist for southern Australia running trials and supporting dealer agronomists from Dubbo through to Ceduna. With the formation of Incitec Pivot (IPF) Charlie took up the position of product innovation manager responsible for new product development and R & D across IPF’s footprint of the eastern states gaining exposure to industries including sugar, horticulture and pasture. More recently he has headed up the IPF Technical & Development team and with accountability for product development, stewardship and R & D for the fertiliser business. As part of these roles he has served on various project advisory committees including Better Fertiliser Decisions and the national agricultural nitrous oxide research project along with guiding the introduction of IPF’s on-line Agronomy Community back in 2010. More recently Charlie’s role as Vice President – Agronomy & Innovation has included management of Nutrient Advantage Laboratory Services, product stewardship and quality and innovation across the IPF network.
