The International Fertilizer Association’s (IFA) Science Innovation Award celebrates groundbreaking advancements in the implementation of science to promote sustainable agriculture and transformative solutions.
The prize category for 2025 is: Novel Fertilizers,

Eligibility
The award is open to scientists, researchers, and startup entrepreneurs developing novel fertilizers that align with the outlined scope. Submissions must demonstrate originality, sustainability, scalability, and feasibility. Applicants are encouraged to include supporting evidence such as patents, research, and field trials
Summary of the Evaluation Process
A panel of experts in science, sustainability, and industry will evaluate submissions based on three weighted criteria:
- Novelty, assessing originality and advancement;
- Sustainability & Scalability, evaluating environmental, social, and economic impacts;
- Practical Implementation, analyzing applicability and adoption. Evidence such as field trials, adoption rates, and scalability potential will inform the decision. Finalists represent transformative innovations that demonstrate real-world impact.
