The potential of oomycetes in the biocontrol of crop rhizosphere diseases

Nathan’s research is focused on studying the biocontrol potential of several oomycetes on the rhizosphere diseases of a selected range of crops. He is looking to determine the most decisive mechanism used by the oomycetes in controlling the diseases. Additionally, he will attempt to extract any chemical materials synthesized by the oomycetes helpful in controlling plant rhizosphere diseases.

Nathan has a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Agricultural Sciences from the University of Melbourne. Since graduating he has worked as a laboratory demonstrator of the plant pathology at the University of Melbourne, has published one disease note, and is continuing his research as a PhD student.
