Data-informed mitigation of agricultural nitrogen pollution. Substantial loss of nitrogen from fertilisers undermines agricultural productivity and damages the environment. Identifying critical zones and times of nitrogen pollution is vital for targeted action, yet current approaches lack the precision and scalability needed for site-specific management.

This project aims to integrate data-driven insights with nitrogen process understanding to build a new fusion model for revealing and managing vulnerable zones and times of nitrogen loss. Expected outcomes include a suite of soil- and climate-specific response patterns and parameters for reliable, scalable forecasting, enabling diagnostics and decision-support to enhance nitrogen efficiency, curb pollution and foster resilient Australian agriculture.
