Professor Caixian Tang

Project Leader, Theme 3 - Microbiome interactions

Caixian Tang leads the Soil-Plant Interactions Group in the Centre for AgriBioscience (AgriBio) at La Trobe University. He leads a project  in Theme 3 developing new knowledge on the nitrogen efficiency in new fertiliser products developed by Theme 1 and 2. His research interests include plant-soil interactions, rhizosphere chemistry and nutrient acquisition, soil acidity and acidification subsoil constraints, and nutrient dynamics in natural and agro-ecosystems.  Tang has published 250+ papers in refereed international journals. He is currently a consulting editor of “Plant and Soil”, associate editor of “Crop & Pasture Science” and subject editor of “Journal of Soils & Sediments”, and referees papers for 30+ international journals.
